Of the many memories of Kevin, one of the most vivid,
in that it shows Kevin's easy-going attitude and great sense of humor,
was the practice he and I got into many years ago. I can't date it, because
I don't remember when it began. But when he and I would meet after a gap
of time, or some other a hand-shaking event occurred, Kevin and I would
square off, and one of us would say, "Let's shake on it!." The other
would agree, and we would begin to extend the hands, both stone-faced -
then we would each de-emphasize the hand and shake our whole bodies, hopefully
in unison. If we were feeling cool, we could do it without cracking up
- but not often. The last time we met in Montana a few years ago,
I had forgotten about it. Until he pulled it on me. What a great
kid!
Note: This was really funny.
I vividly remember the first time I saw them do it.
