While Kevin was in training to become a Navy SEAL, he
came up to Montana for a visit. He had to stay in excellent shape,
so he would run every day.
I remember that every morning he would get ready to run,
by stretching out in the driveway at Grandma Eva's house and then he would
run, (not jog, but dead run) all the way down Daly Ave. South to Doran
Lane, or turn and go down Grantsdale Rd. all the way to Aunt Bernie's house
on Zimmerman Lane, AND BACK!!!!
Erin and I had a blast riding our bikes along behind him,
and sometimes we would try to race him, and even on bikes he could give
us a run for the money!! I'll never forget when he called Grandma
after he made it into the SEALS, I felt like I had helped him get there!
Kevin always kept in touch with us girls, and made us feel really grown
up and important to him!
I loved him very much, and I'll miss him for the rest
of my life!
Note: Kevin never actually
became a SEAL. When he was in Hawaii, around 1985, he took the screening
tests and was accepted (his training paid off), however, he would have
had to sign up for 4 more years and by then he was already planning his
civilian life. (Doug Printz)
