My friend Brian Sharp in cooperation with Folsom HOG Chapter #1787, the Folsom Police Department and Folsom Harley Davidson organized the PEACE OFFICER MEMORIAL RIDE to raise funds to send some Folsom Motor officers to Washington D.C. during National Police Week.

Linda and I have never gone on such a ride, but Brian had talked about it several months ago and I told him I'd try to make it. Thankfully, in addition to the hundreds of Harley riders, some of my friends from the Gold Country Dual Sport Riders also showed up and we had a great day. It was good to see Duc & Michele, Larry & Kelley, and Brian & Nancy. Linda had the chance to meet some of the people that I've been riding with for the past couple of years, we contributed to a good cause, and had a great ride. We even met a few of the Harley riders and didn't feel too out of sync on our Honda among the hundreds of Harleys. All of my friends from the GCDSR were riding BMWs.

I'm really glad that Linda's interest in motorcycling has been revived and we now have a motorcycle that can haul both of us around the countryside.
