Johanna (Mayer) Schmid
April 16, 1963 - July 23, 2003

MISSOULA - On Thursday, July 24, 2003, Johanna (Mayer) Schmid, 40, went home to be with her Father in heaven due to complications from an epileptic seizure.

Jo was born April 16, 1963, to Tot and Caroline Mayer while Tot was stationed in El Paso, Texas. In 1972 the family moved to Missoula, where Jo attended Rattlesnake Grade School and graduated from Hellgate High School in 1982.

Jo had a passion for sports, her favorite being softball. This brought her to her best friend and love Bob Schmid, whom she married on February 23, 1991.

Jo faced many challenges in life living with epilepsy, which she met with courage and faith. Her daughter Anitra is a cancer survivor and Jo brought many people to faith through her experiences. Goodbye, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. We will miss you.

Jo is survived by her husband Bob and her young angels Miranda and twins Malia and Anitra, all of Missoula; her parents, Tot and Caroline Mayer of Missoula; sister Iris Deadwyler and family of Colonial Heights, Virginia.; brother Jim Mayer and family of San Antonio, Texas; brother David Mayer and family of Boring, Oregon; sister Co Rogan and family of Anderson Island, Wash.; sister Tonyia Fuller and family of Brighton, Colorado; sister Caroline Thurston and family of Missoula; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
